NETWORKING PROJECTS:
- Security Vulnerabilities in Wireless Networks
- Demonstrate a wireless network’s weaknesses: Spoofing Attacks, Network Sniffing, Network Probing and WEP cracking
- Suggest preventive measures to safeguard the wireless network
- Web Server Migration and Deployment
- Performed localized installation of various services for a new Linux server
- Conducted server audits for six Sun Solaris servers and successfully migrated existing web applications to a Red Hat Enterprise Linux server
- GSM Network Optimization
- Used ProScout to optimize an active PCS1900 network
- Analyzed coverage patterns, frequency plans and handover scenarios
- Studied points of failure, reported findings and recommendations for improvement
- PCS System Deployment
- Adjusted base station locations, height, power output to achieve favorable coverage patterns for Washington D.C. and College Park areas using MaXPlan
- Designed a frequency plan using Block C frequencies for the network to minimize co-channel and adjacent interference
- Calculated and eliminated microwave interference with Poseidon
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS:
- WAP/SMS Server Design
- Conceive a web-based tool to allow users to create and host displayable wap pages
- Implement a wap/sms server using Gnokii/Kannel to allow send/receive text messages and display wap pages to users in Grenada
- Administrative Interface Design for the Collex Project
- Drafted the functional specifications for the new administrative interface
- Reviewed existing MySQL database structure and recommended changes
- Devised the new administrative interface
- Steinschneider Bibliographical Database Design
- Formulated a relational database structure to efficiently map the TEI - based xml files
- Contrived parser scripts, a reusable authentication module and an administrative interface to manage database entries and user accounts
- Provided a comprehensive search feature using MySQL’s free text search
- Disability Studies Academic Community Website Redesign
- Reengineered the JSP-based architecture to PHP-based architecture
- Designed a new database structure in MySQL for efficiency
- Added improved authentication features and better user management functions
My primary area of interest is Wireless Networks. I have successfully completed various projects on wireless networks such as PCS System Deployment (using MaxPlan) and GSM Network Optimization (using ProScout). I have a keen interest in Wireless Network Design and Deployment and I am looking forward to working on more projects of this nature.
I am currently working on a project titled “Security Vulnerabilities in Wireless Networks”, which involves the actual demonstration of various attacks on Wireless Networks” and also on a project titled “OFDM in MediaFLO” which aims to demonstrate how MediaFLO works.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
- I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Telecommunications which is a cross-disciplinary program in conjunction with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the R.H. Smith School of Business.
- I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Mumbai.
